    cable release extension

    To all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a source for a cable release extension that is longer (similar to a typical cable release length) than the typical one used for recessed lens boards manufactured by Gepe (3.25 inches for example). The reason is because I have a Prontor Linhof long exposure (2-32 sec) timer and need a replacement part for the cable extension. This would have to look like the Gepe (screw attachment at one end to extend the cable length) but approximate a more typical length of say 7 or more inches.

    Thank you,
    dan dumitru

    cable release extension

    Hi Daniel,

Calumet used to sell a cable release called a Prontor "Flex-Tip" cable release. It was exactly what you describe. I don't see it listed on Calumet's website, anymore. Perhaps a call to Calumet would help. If you cannot locate an actual "Flex-Tip" cable release, the little Gepe flexible extension is capable of converting any length of cable release into a flexible tip type by merely screwing a standard cable release into it. However, it does shorten the throw and may not be capable of tripping your shutter.
