I hope that this is appropriate to share here as this was shot on a medium format RB67.
Being a perfectionist makes being a photographer incredibly difficult. I feel really comfortable photographing people. I consider myself a portrait photographer and am inspired by making images of people. But landscapes, that is a challenge for me. For a few years now I have been pushing myself to attempt to make a landscape photograph that I can live with and I have hated 99.975% of everything I've made.
On this trip I had the opportunity to make photographs in this beautiful place. This is the second year I've attempted to make images here. This year the clouds were incredible, the light was stunning and I really hoped to make a few images that I could live with. I don't want to make "Post Card" photographs. I want to make images that make me FEEL something. There are a lot of beautiful landscape photographs made by incredible photographers. I am trying to find my vision and my voice on the subject – and that is one of the most difficult things for me to do.
So I'm sharing for the first time one of the first landscape images from this trip. It was sunrise on the second day there and I wanted to capture the grandeur of the view, the scale of the perspective and the artfulness of the light. I'm getting closer but I still have a long way to go.

Safety: Stay on dirt roads
Hazards: Quicksand, air pollution (dust), high temps during summer and thunderstorms
At Boulder Creek, exit 395. Cross the cattle guard at Boulder Creek where you'll see a dirt road on the south side of Boulder Creek. Head east on the dirt road and then turn right (south). Tim, Nice. I like the low key details. feels very ritch.
I wonder how this would look printed at 5x7 ish or less on very nice paper and floating in an elegant frame with lots of breathing room.

Nice clouds and sky, great mountains, Tim, but if you posted it smaller I could see the whole thing at once and get a better "view" as it were of the photograph.
