    Re: Konica GRII; any drawbacks?

OK, resurrecting an old thread, but in my search for info on the Konica Hexanon GR II lenses am unable to find any real specs on them.

I recently acquired a 150, 260, and a 300, and when mounted on the 8x20 Korona Panoramic View, the two longer ones "lit" up the corners and was able to see an image, but I did not expose any film (8x20 sheet is expensive!).

Has anyone seen factory specifications for these lenses, or comprehensive tests? Or is everything opinions?

These lenses have been around for ages. AFAIK, no solid data available. Informal tests and hearsay, yes. More, no.

If you find anything solid, please tell us.

    Dan,

Staggering conclusion in this age of information strewn throughout the Internet, but one that I cannot dispute from my efforts.

    Thanks for the reply,

    Len

I also have a few of these lenses, and the 300mm did seem to cover 8x20... But I also did not expose any film as I discovered the 305mm G-Claron I had covered better and used that. So the 300mm Konica continues to sit on the shelf.

This was taken with the 260mm on a homemade diptych camera(2 5x7 holders end to end) shooting old Polycontrast paper. The paper negatives were scanned and printed digitally. It was necessary to do a slight burn to the center to get what you see.

Nicely seen and well done. And a very intriguing camera!

Couldn’t think of a better way of answering my ancient question about coverage for 7x17”! Love this and thanks.
