    20x24 DevTec processing drum

I've recently acquired this one together with a bunch of other drums, mostly Cibachrome.
While the Cibachromes I am using have two different lids for filling and draining, the huge DevTec drum came with two identical lids.
Both caps have holes for draining as well as funnel and cup for filling.
This forces one to drain the tube after each use, since there is no way to keep the chemicals inside the drum while in vertical position.
Is this normal for DevTec drums or do I got a lemon?
    thanks for any advice

    That's how they are designed.
The Dev-Tec processor holds the drum horizontally in a tempered water bath.
The drum is lifted out and turned vertically to drain and fill at the same time.
Real cameras are measured in inches...
    Not pixels.

Actually, you've got two drain caps. The fill cap has a funnel shape from the outside, and a small fill cone inside, so the chem are retained in vertical, and then
hit the paper once you go horizontal. They're perfectly fine, efficient drums otherwise.

Or on closer inspection, I should have qualified that a bit more. You have the inner fill caps, but not the inner blank drain cap for the other end. These components interchange, making them easy to clean; but you have a mismatched set. Should work OK anyway for some processes, just a bit longer to drain perhaps. These
were designed for one-shot chem usage per print, just like most drums.
