Beautiful photographs, really like those. There's a lot of beautiful scenery connected to the railroad in this country.

unexpectedly beautiful, great attention to detail and light, works well on a mobile device; very fine work

Hi John, the work is great... I love all of the work. The site, while nimble and functional, feels like it lacks design. The text appears in different colors and fonts, which lessens the impact of your imagery. Overall, I just don't feel that it's as sophisticated, nor elegant a platform as your work deserves. We rebuilt my site over the winter (also based on WP) and I looked at a LOT of themes. There are some really great ones out there. I'd suggest that you spend some time researching them all and find something that's a stronger fit.

Sorry for being so critical, but I think your work just deserves a stronger platform.

    IMHO,
    CB

I agree 100%, excellent vision throughout the railroad series! Easy to use on an IPad. Beautiful photographs!

    Thanks for the feedback.

Chris, I see what you mean. This theme has a lot of potential. I'm still tweaking.

    While you are tweaking
comma after New York City on the first line
No comma between humor and and on the sixth line.
    I know -Picky picky
    But you asked.
Also one page of pictures is scroll down and another is scroll across; would consistency be better?

Make the font larger, so the old folks can read it.

How hard is it to design a website? I'd like to have one, but fear spending too much time that I should really spend in the darkroom. And my kids seem a bit scared of tackling the job, too.

    John,

I've always enjoyed your work, and it was fun to follow your trip west. Medicine Bow is about halfway between where I grew up (Casper) and went to college (Laramie).

I'm curious about the presentation of your prints at the railway museum. Are the photos not matted? If so, is the glass separated from the prints somehow? They look quite elegant - I wish I could have seen the show!

PS I composed this as a PM, but your in box is full.
