Sorry to hear about this. It wasn't always this way with Gnass. I ordered from them about a year ago and received my order very promptly. Hopefully, it's just a temporary glitch.

No doubt communication is less than ... customary, but I've always received stuff I ordered (3 or 4 orders). I think he has stuff made in batches, and when I ordered an 8x10 file holder, he told me I was lucky because it was the last of a batch and it would be several weeks before he got more.
The latest was a darkcloth which took probably 6 weeks. I didn't call or e-mail since I know he can be slow, but has always delivered. I'd order again.

I'm glad I bought my Gnass Gear lens case from Frank instead of Justin. It's a neat case for transporting my larger lenses that are mounted in Copal 3 shutters. It reminds me of the kind of outdoor gear that people use when climbing Mt. Everest. Thanks for the prompt attention to my order, Frank.
I suspect that Gnass is truely a cottage industry, and as such some slack should be given. He was always priced a little beyond me, or I would be commiserating with y'all as we type. Still, if we want this type of business to survive, we should give him a chance to get moved in. Just my thoughts.
Cutting them some slack on shipping because of moving is fine, but charging the CC before delivering the goods is a big time no-no.

Hey, cut me some slack, I can't even examine some of these specialized goods us LFr's buy, yet most of them want there money up front NOW. I say most because there is a small amount of dealers and manufacturers out there that do work with you. Live and learn, and thank you no who there are sites like this that keep us informed.
DON'T WORRY!! Justin Gnass is an honourable guy! I experienced the same level of service - but I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and the order turned up - just a few weeks later than promised! This was despite a few phone calls from the UK!! BUT, he is a specialist manufacturer and I get the impression that a great deal of his equipment is made to order. Not ideal business practice to keep "us" waiting but the guy is genuine and provides an excellent product - well worth the wait!
I have to agree with Paul. Justin is a great guy who makes a product that is absolutely the best. Well worth the wait. But his business practices leave a lot to be desired and his website just plain sucks. Especially the ordering end. Twice recently I attempted to order 8x10 film cases and I failed to get all the way through without it cancelling all the information I had entered. Finally said to hell with it and gave up. I guess I'll have to call him.
I think it is actually illegal in the U.S. to charge a CC until the merchandise is shipping..EC
