older type of Sinar Norma (DB) Shutter?

I came by an old type of Sinar camera, (C.Koch), which has an shutter, but unlinke mine F1 shutter, it only seems to have a M and a B setting. Does anyone know what kind of shutter(?) this is?

The camera looks to be a Sinar Norma. I know they had shutters available back then but I don't know anything about them. I parted out an F one time that had a later shutter like you have.

Have you tried actuating the shutter on the different settings to see what you get?

Re: older type of Sinar Norma (DB) Shutter?

There are at least 2 types of (early?) Sinar/Copal shutters:

    - the MB model shown in the OP.

    - A model I have which I can describe as:

"Made in Switzerland" instead of the usual "Switzerland . . . . Made in Japan"
    Not marked the usual "Copal".
No provision (plastic casting/minus clips) for internal filters.
Speeds and their placing on the scale is very different.

    Usual type is B 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8.
    This one is B 1/50, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 1/32.
The position of the 1/32 is past 8 secs!

    Thank you Steven,
Do you mean by 'this one' yours or the MB model? Or don't this model have any preset shutterspeeds but only a M and B setting?
(I can't have a look at this shutter, because i don't own it (yet)

    Hi Steven,
If I switch the lever to M setting on the MB model what is the shutter speed.
Thank you for your reply in advance.

A jewelers screwdriver appropriate size will trip the shutter. I guess time and bulb also. For lots of applications that is all you need
