    hendrik, I am intrigued by your image of the bird. Dead I assume. Or aenesthicized? And the little bottle? Because I am a birder the image is very intriguing and suggestive.

    The bird (Singdrossel in german) was dead in my garden and the little bottle was gift from a Lady; she found it in her town garden cultivated since early 19th century.
    So I do not know how old it is. The photo was token for a heliogravure, that was not successful due to foul biting, I have to repeat

    “1945 Sprinkling Permit”.

    The sign was about 12” in front of my new 120mm f:1.6 Wollaston lens on a 5x7 Deardorff.
    I shot it at f:3.2 (almost wide open) on a gray day.
    From a paper negative, ISO 3 on vari-grade paper, no pre-flash, 8 minutes in Dektol 1+20

    I like that you were able to retain some detail in the deep shadow! That looks like pine boards. Is that common barn siding in New England?
