Question Why did you delete your post?

When you deleted your post, you left the "reason for deleting" box empty.

Now it's time for you to come clear!

Tell us why you did it, especially if it helps others improve their own posts.

And no deleting allowed here ... unless you fill-in the box!

Re: Why did you delete your post?

Sorry, couldn't help it. But seriously I don't delete very often, recently I did delete a post I made because I decided it was intrusive. Maybe I should have stated why.

I was about to report your post to the moderators for breaking the rules of this thread! ;^)

Which reminds me, "violating forum rules" was an option I didn't include in the poll, but maybe I should have.

So I'll vote #10, and state that it's a really good reason for deleting a post!

    -----
I'll also ask – what everyone thinks is the most common "best" reason a post should be deleted.

Come to think of it, this thread just might ease the job of our beloved, overworked moderators.

Re: Why did you delete your post?

I delete my posts for four reasons, three of which were listed. The one not listed was "Didn't notice someone else already posted the same information".

Damn... that's another one. Another reason is... "I clicked 'reply' rather than 'edit' ". I guess that makes five for me and two to add to your list.

Usually, I'm being honest and saying something that contradicts someone who is sputtering bullshit based on something they read on the web vs. actual experience.

    What about deleting Threads?
Isn't, the 'Style & Technique' Forum...

    >> For questions about Exposure, Meters, Zone System, or advice on Photographing 'specific' Subjects???

Re: Why did you delete your post?

    I'm on a mac and i can't delete posts ...
i can edit them for a little while and if i
want to remove everything i wrote and replace it
with ... i do that ( double post, over zealous response to something
that i shouldn't' have responded to in the first place &c )
or .. if it is a 4-5 year old classified or something
that was sold, i tend to click on the moderator button and ask politely
if they will remove it because it's not available anymore ... ( and they have better things to do than help me )

    +1

for example, i recently read somewhere you can use baking soda as fixer ...
and from personal experience i know this isn't true ...
and i also read that you can soak poorly fixed prints / film in baking soda to reverse the problems of poorly fixed film / prints
    that doesn't work either...

there is a lot of bs on the internet ...

Re: Why did you delete your post?

Usually if I delete, it's due to some network glitch that resulted in a duplicate post.
