Paul Caponigro Show at The Santa Fe University of Art and Design

The photo department will be opening a Paul Caponigro show at the Marion Center for the Photographic Arts on January 30th from 5-7pm. The show is being drawn from the schools extraordinary photography collection and will mainly feature work from the early
'Megaliths" project, one of my personal favorites of his.
    Thanks,
    Kirk

Was in L.A. Ca. area before Christmas and had a day to kill before the red eye home. By chance went to the Huntington Library to see gardens. Didn't know about the Bruce Davidson and Paul Caponigro show. Wow my lucky day. (Don't know closing) Its gets better. The guard told me there were more photos in the other building by some guy name Ed or Eward. There was 20 prints of Ed Weston on display from their collection of many. What a way to end a trip. Also the Chinese and Japanese gardens were really great. Highly recommended. Near Pasadena

They had a show of Paul's work across the river in New Hampshire last summer. I went with my wife and she had trouble dragging me away. She finally bribed me out of the door by buying me a copy of his book. Now I know what to do when the next major exhibition rolls around.

If only I could! I'm working at The Phillips Collection these days and they have one Caponigro on display... not enough.

Fred Picker told of working as a grunt for Caponigro, and souping a lot of proofs in print developer. All of a sudden, there was "Running White Deer," and he almost keeled over.

Have fun with the show. Wish I were closer.

The opening has been postponed because of the weather-the whole university closed at noon.

I'll be visiting for the first time in early March. I'll try to catch the exhibit.
