When I took that picture the board was a little loose in the standard. I've had to pay attention to the lens board sliders, have to make sure that they allow no play.
The 260 monster is fairly heavy, 970 g. I use four other heavyweights, the 12"/4 TTH, 480/9 and 610/9 Apo Nikkors, and 900/10 Apo Saphir.
The TTH needs a crutch, if you look at its picture you'll see a piece of plexi that's just the right thickness. The lens’ center of gravity is way out in front of the standard.
The 480 and 610 don't really need crutches, the 900 (a little more than 4 kg) absolutely does. I've used the 480 on my tandem Graphic (see http://1drv.ms/1vwOKxF and http://1drv.ms/1vwP3IE), no crutch needed and no sag either. I use the 610 and 900 on a Cambo SC, use a cut down SC-2 standard as a crutch with both. You can see the 900 resting on its crutch in the Bertha story.
Thanks for reporting on your 260 and 300. I'm not surprised by the results.
Cheers,
Dan
