Let's make an image whispering chain

There are a lot of ways to create images that respond to eachother. You can either have one given image and have everyone respond to that. Or get some sort of dialogue going between two people where they respond to images in turn.

A couple of years ago I participated a few times in the making of an image chain where every image reacts to only the last photo in the chain. Those were shot on digital and you had one day to complete your image. The results where always very good and surprising. I thought why not try it out on LF?


Obviously one day is too short to think of something good, shoot it and develop the film, but I still would like to keep a little time pressure on, so it doesn't take forever to complete.


So my proposal is this:

Every participant gets one week to shoot an image that reacts to the image that is sent to them, digitize it in some way and send it to me and the next person in the chain. Please send me a short explanation about what inspired you to take this particular image.

Format: anything that is allowed to be displayed in the LF image section is fine, whether it be a scan from a negative or a print (or a direct positive, polaroid etc.), 4:5 aspect ratio or panoramic, color or b/w.

You can react to anything in the image, ranging from composition to the light, to subject or continue the story you see in the image etc. As this is open to anyone, please no nude/18+ content.

I'll send the first picture out on November 5th. I'd like to keep the running time relatively short, so if there are more than 12 participants I'll ask someone else to start a second chain.


The open slots are as follows for now. Please choose as early a slot as you possibly can so the later ones end up filled and some early ones don't get filled at all:

More slots can be added as the need arises ofcourse.
You can join in by choosing a slot here or in a pm. I'll keep the list updated as much as I can. It will still be possible to participate after the chain has started.

After I receive the last image, in January, I'll post the whole chain on the forum.
