Well, it looks beautiful - maybe the clouds changed things - but on its own, it looks quite nice!

    Looks amazing!
Is this a scan from print - did you burn the foreground to frame the subject?

+1 to posters above, not many wide angled portraits look good - this one certainly does. And your dad has a bit of swagger there, doesnt he? That looks great in the portrait!

analoguey - Thanks! It's an inverted scan but I printed the image and it looks exactly the same except for an annoying chemical stain that was left on the negative from a drying rack. (school darkrooms suck sometimes...) And no I didn't burn the foreground to surround the model. This shot happened towards the end of the day when we were finishing up a shoot walking back to our car. I saw the light and asked for just one more photo even though I knew the model was exhausted...so we ran out into the field and made it quick I was very happy because I wasn't even the photographer that day lol..I was assisting my girlfriend on a shoot :P

Thanks Peter. It's just a single softbox camera left.

Thank you, and yes, that's swagger
He doesn't know he's 73, and no one wants to tell him.

This is fine, very fine; I really like the details captured by the lens, the eyelash and the reflection in the eye.
The background is pretty beautiful as well; very well done!

A simple portrait that I cajoled out of this nice young lady.

Linhof Master Technika, Zeiss Sonnar 250mm f/5.6 stopped down about half a stop, a couple of flashes, HP5+, developed with SPUR HRX, 1:20, in rotary tube for 11 minutes:
