    Fixing eyesight adjustment on loupe

Having lost my small and excellent Toyo loupe somewhere on the beach near Caesaria
(Anyone who finds it, please let me have it back), I have purchased a replacement which is heavier and whose top element rotates to compensate for individual eyesight.
In use, this constantly moves and is a royal pain having to adjust both the loupe and the camera.
Can anyone suggest a way of securing the focus collar semi-permanently so that it doesn't move, but could be re-adjusted if nec?
    many thanks!

A liquied product called "Loctite", available from auto parts stores, is often used for this sort of requirement. It comes in different grades depending on how strongly it is to hold.

    Hi Rabbi,

I can relate to your problem, since I have a Silvestri adjustable focus loupe, as well as a Toyo 3.6X fixed focus loupe. I solved my problem by first adjusting the Silvestri for my eyesight, and then wrapping the barrel with a strip of 1/2 in. wide black gaffers tape to prevent the focusing ring from turning and going out of focus. So far, it's working fine.

Another idea: Put in the spiral a -very small- piece of plumbing sealing teflon white tape, or add sticky grease.

Teflon tape if it will unscrew. Otherwise one or two drops of blue Loctite. CAREFUL. The red stugg hardens permanetly. Too much blue will be difficult too.

Tried the teflon tape. Works like a charm. Many thanks to all for the help!
