Mod 54 AK47 - BH Stock New Version?

Strange... I just never had issues, and I can load the MOD54 WAY faster than loading those stupid 2509n reels. You have to admit, it shows poor engineering if you have to buy an item that costs more than the real just to be able to load I easily, and that the company made such an item to sell you instead of engineering a better reel...

As far as development with the MOS54, I just never had an issue, but I mostly used Rodinal 1:50 a few times 1:25 or 1:100 semi stand... But the only other dev I used was DD-X and that was also even.

I had one incident of scratches on the back, the first time, because I was agitating too fast. Once I slowed down my inversion, any issues went away.

One very slow full inversion every minute... Slow like, it takes 10 seconds to fully complete the inversion.

I used FP4+ in XTOL at 20 degrees, which causes rather short dev times which I think must be the problem. It could be that a pre-soak would help as well with the short developing times?

I've done Ilfsol 3 which has times like HC-110(B) at around 5 minutes, one was 4:30

Essentially the old one was made of a plastic with sharp edges and so scratches would occur, the new one is a softer plastic and I think there are a few other things covered that I'm not aware of, but those are the basics.

Old is a translucent red...



New one is a solid red...



(but they haven't replaced the picture on many sites but essentially new stock should be the new version.

Yeah it's much much easier than the JOBO 2509n reels to load.

Oh I read that, it's just that it's a poor design in my opinion. I'm not an engineer, but I have 4 generations of engineers in my blood, and it's a horrid design, almost as bad as the the 2500 series reels which are almost as bad as the 1500 reels.

After you use one of these... All other reels seem to be crap...
