"QUOTE=Andrew O'Neill;1364772]This time I coated the kallitype image with Lumitex matte varnish. I much prefer the matte finish. The Kallitype was also gold toned. "
Hey Andrew, thanks for the tip on the matte varnish, it's been bulletproof in my tests in carbon on platine. I was pulling my hair out with gelatin, pva, and albumen sizing then I tried the varnish and all was right in the universe again!
Carbon print on Arches Platine. An old Hudson car near Flaming Gorge UT. Please forgive the iPhone reproduction.
Nice print Erik! I also like using platine as a final support for carbon. How are you making your digital negatives?
Thanks, I also like the platine but have a hard time keeping delicate highlights with carbon- it drives me nuts!
Sandy King kindly provided me with a quad tone rip profile that worked very well with just a little adjustment for my working methods. I'm no genius at qtr for sure!
