    Chamonix 11x14 with heavy lenses?

I'm wondering if anyone has experience putting large, heavy lenses on a Chamonix 11x14, and can share how well it copes.

I'm thinking in terms of the 210mmm SSXL or Super Angulon.

Chamonix is superb in term of stability. My 8x10 holds a 210 XL with no problem, so a 11x14 is even more easier.
Double the weight of the 210 XL, I believe it still holds well, just expresses some difficulties if you need some tilts.

    Evan,

What does that look like? I did look at the Chamonix web site, but only found a listing of sizes and prices.

The biggest lens I have used on my RH Phillips 7x17 Explorer (predecessor of the Chamonix) was a Schneider 210 SSXL. The weight did not seem to cause a problem, but that being such a wide lens on that format the two standards were very close together so I am sure the compressed bellows gave additional structure. The weight did cause a problem for the operator who has sent the 210 to another owner.

    John,

I was too lazy to put on the website. Here are some pictures of the lens support.

    Thanks.
