It is a cool image. It really looks like nowhere and her fancy hat and dress contrast with the background too.

Thanks guys. It was supposed to be a different type of shoot, but after 2 weeks of planning I found out on shoot day that the original suit didn't fit. I'll be shooting something similar soon.

did you use a wee little electronic flash for the perfect catch lights in their eyes....or maybe a small focused hot light?

regardless of the catch lights, this is one fine portrait.

Are the halos a developing artifact or photoshop?

I dodge and burn in LightRoom; the halo is there when I want some separation from the background in a dark-on-dark area.
If I don't want the halo, I dodge/burn more precisely.
