I work at Uncle Goose! I made those blocks. We make these all the time, and all kinds of blocks. Alphabet blocks in most languages of the world, Sign Language, etc.

Wonderful small world! I like that they're made in the US, too. Any chance of someone coming up with photography-related block designs?
When I saw them in a catalog, I thought about doing shots of them before I thought of eventually teaching my youngun the periodic chart.

Photographing an e-reader will never be as much fun as photographing physical books. Lucky for me I've got enough shelves (and boxes) of them to last me the rest of my life...and then some. At my current rate of consumption I'll never get around to reading most of them, but at least I can use them as props.

Ken, I like how not all the keys are in focus, but it's gradual and gentle out of focus. It's sort of how we see keys if we look at them. The polished shiny piano back reflection of the keys balances things nicely.

Thanks. I've got plenty more books and plenty more photos to take of them if I can only find the right approach.

Typewriter, 2014

Ken, I continue to be a half-step behind you, first with the vintage phones and now with the typewriters. I brought a couple of old typewriters down from the attic a few weeks ago but have yet to take a suitable photograph of them. Lighting and framing are eluding me at the moment.

Superb composition and execution. Love it.
Oh and of course superb polishing job :-) your arm must still hurt in order to get the mirror finish on the typewriter.
