Easy to see why. 270mm on 8x10 sits at a nice intimate distance from the subject. It's small, with no bothersome shutter (other than the Galli switch). The sinar aperture widget covers for the goerz confusing f-stops. It's definition appears to be as good as my 300mm Sironar.
Anyway tomorrow, on the same set, I get to try out (a pr stunt, I'm not buying), a monochrom PhaseOne Achromatic IQ260 (30k dollar definition). I'll show you the result on the Tiny Formats thread.

Lens - 18" Verito at f4,
Paper - Arista EDU 8x10 RC glossy paper,
Lights - 2 speedotron strobes...with the lights in the studio at their dimmest, lens cap taken off and strobes fired, lens cap replaced.
Developer - Dektol.
Scanned as transmissive.

Thanks, Steve. I want to try a shallow DoF shot of this as well since it is a little 'flat' for my taste. We'll see how that goes.
