Here's my very first salt print of the same image shown before.
I didn't tone it yet but I am surprised at the neutral tonality. I was expecting more brown/red. I cropped the brushes out.

Thank you, Dennis. Yes, these old lenses have a particularly nice rendition of the out-of-focus areas and that's why I love to use them. The Petzval also has a strongly curved focal "plane" adding to the unique character. Another asset is the lower contrast, which helps in the shadows. A small scan on the screen won't really show much of the difference but when printed in the darkroom it becomes quite obvious.
