Not sure what the differences are between it and, say, Kodak HIE, Rollei IR, or Efke IR, but from what I understand it is just HP5+ with extended red sensitivity. But, I like the way this film works with an R25 filter! And this photo is actually handheld at f/22 and 1/15th, which would be impossible with a true IR filter and shooting at like EI 0.5 or so, which is what I do with Efke IR820.
+1 on the great photo. I’ve worked with SFX a little bit and I like it. It has a fairly strong IR response with a 720 filter. Haven’t tried my 680nm filter yet but i suspect it would be fairly dramatic. You are correct about the speed though. The little bit I did was with a pinhole camera and.... there was time involved.

Thanks! I think my IR filter is a 720 and yeah it plays nice with the SFX, almost too much. I also need to find a deep red (27 I think) filter and try that. I like the dark sky but midtone foliage look that is often hard or impossible to get here in the low country. A pinhole with IR filter...ouch! Sounds fun though .

That's a strong image, Jason. The guy with the cap is a great addition to the photo.

Just be cautious, I use to be immune to poison oak but with enough exposure I lost my immunity.

You're gonna need an ocean of calamine lotion
You'll be scratchin' like a hound
The minute you start to mess around

    Poison ivy, poison ivy
Late at night while you're sleepin'
    Poison ivy comes a-creepin' around

"Poison Ivy" lyrics by The Coasters, 1959.
