Austin Granger's "Horse" is remarkable for resolving the problem of power lines in a favorable way to the composition. I'm going to try to think more about accepting power lines, instead of going to ridiculous lengths to avoid them. Good work, Austin.

Thanks Rory, John. If you learn to love the power lines you'll find good subjects everywhere!

I think I had an orange filter on, that's it.

    Hey, it's light snow here.

That looks like a great place for a picnic.

    Any bugs yet?

Oh God I had my super-duper 100% DEET stuff today and the mosquitoes were still going nuts. Last week the standing water there was alive with movement as the mosquito larvae started to hatch or whatever (I'm no bug expert).
I am very jealous!! It was 85 degrees yesterday. "Spring" lasted a day, now it's summer.

BTW, that picnic table is a quarter mile down the river from where it is supposed to be!

You have been getting more rain than we have. Though the skeeters are just as bad here.
    Nice shot Bryan.

This reminds me. I shot this image Saturday. I've been wanting to grab a shot like this for a while. Occasionally you'll find these huge masses of gnats flying in a big ball (reminds me of bird flocks flying in unison). If the light is just right it glints off of them and is a very interesting sight. In this instance if I moved even a few feet either direction to get the tree out of my shot you couldn't see them (they also need to be in front of a dark background). This isn't a perfect representation but it's close. It was really hard to focus with an RF. They move very fast so a fast shutter speed is essential.

Now if I could do it, I want to try this with a tri-color process. It might turn out very interesting!

I really like this shot! RB and IR combo is terrific!

That trestle is something I have wanted to capture for years. There is s shot on I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville at a place where Caney Fork crosses nearly in the same place where the rail crosses. There is an old trestle there that I always wanted to capture. As for the gnats, they are yet to come out here. Mowed Saturday without getting molested.
