    Re: August 2013 Portraits

    Thanks all.

I packed up my camera yesterday, to shoot some landscapes since we had some decent summer cloud formations. I stopped to survey the lake, and saw Le'Roy fishing, and introduced myself. Asked if I could grab a shot of him with the view camera. He was more than happy too. I was going to use the fishing pole in the shot, but I didn't want to pull back enough for that, and sacrifice loosing the details in the face and whiskers.

I used my car windshield reflector to fill the eye sockets.

I think I will get a metallic print of this for the studio wall. I think it will print nicely.

Heck, I may even try to make a wet print myself

    Be well.

I love it. It's nice you went with f/8, the whiskers are marvelous as well as the texture of the skin. I'm not sure of the reflector in the eyes. It's ok, but it does make me wonder about the potential if it was smaller or not there. It seems to be masking a certain 'depth' that we get from one's eyes.
However, going out for landscapes and ending up with a badass portrait has to be a good thing!
