    Re: tripod for toyo 810M

The OP did specify Berlebach. I use a 4032 with a Gitzo R-4 head with my 810M. This is a very solid combination and is stable even fully extended. And fully extended, I need to use a step stool to focus on the ground glass. I'm 6'4". I flirted briefly with a ball head because I like my 2032/Photoclam Gold combination quite a bit for 4x5. The 810M doesn't' play nice with ball heads, however. In order to turn the head into a quick release, I added a Cambo QR adapter with a 3/8" plate. It works great.

thank you Michael, so I guess that with a 2042 or 242 tripod the stability is ok cause the 4032 has a load capacity of 10kg (22lb) and the other one of 12kg (27,6lb)

I do have a 2042 which I use all the time for my smaller gear. (I said 2032 in the other thread because I type 128 mistakes per minute). I do NOT find it suitable for the 810M, which is why I bit the bullet and sprung for the larger tripod. Load ratings can be very misleading. 12KG of centered load isn't the same thing as 7KG of off-centered, unbalanced load shaped like a box kite.

If all you can afford is the smaller, less expensive, lower-load tripod, another option is to hang a weight from the tripod hook, if the Berlebach does indeed have a hook.

thank you Michael, so the 2022 is better cause i'm 185cm tall but in this case i need for one head... so much money =/
