Will spend a month there and am looking for large format darkroom rental. I have tried the two art institutes-neither responds, so I assume they aren't interested. Any ideas?

I would go local, perhaps join a SMA chat group. There are darkrooms, at least there were in my past experience, throughout Mexico. However, they are more likely to be found in private residences than in institutional settings. Are you anticipating holding a workshop or is your intention for personal use?

My friend Russell Monk lives there, he has talked about building a darkroom.
I think at some time he will have it set up , but would know people that may be able to help.
