If you think that's the 1st or last naked woman your "11 year old" boy has/will see then your fooling yourself. Plus at 11 years of age maybe it was a good time to talk about the difference between nude art or pornography. This was art with out a doubt. One more thing, do you let or does he play video games like Doom or other shooter/kill games. Now That's something to worry about.
I'm sorry but nudes should stay in the "nude" thread. Discussions of whether or not an 11-year-old has seen or not seen it already is NOT the point. Unless there is some php script that can mark and hide NSFW images unless you "allow" or something? Regardless - there are many places where one might be browsing the forum and not want to scroll past any nude, artsy or not.
I also take offense at the jab at video games. I played Doom a lot as a young boy and I'm a perfectly normal guy now (and I still play video games, ironically not shooters though).
Why have separate "Nudes" and "Portraits" threads if there is going to be no distinction? I don't browse the Nudes thread, not because I am a prude or have my head buried in the sand about what my teen boys have or will see, but because it isn't the kind of art I am interested in. I am also cognizant of the fact that there are people in the world who don't appreciate nudes of any sort because of religious or other moral convictions. I would love for those folks to feel like they can browse the Portraits thread without the worry of being surprised by a nude. If they can't feel safe doing that, then they go away and take their art and perspectives with them. Then this whole forum is poorer for it. Now maybe some here have no tolerance for people who aren't open to any and all kinds of art, but that is a narrow minded view that I think we need not promote. This discussion has been had in so many places, I can't believe people are still putting nudes into general threads. I think Ben has a great artistic talent, but this image clearly belongs in the Nudes thread and the mods should have caught it early and avoided this whole thing.

Please save us from religion, morals and some one culture's definition of work safe. This is an appalling promotion of censorship.
Or keep your young children out of museum and pick the most restrictive of the world's culture's definition of work or young child safe and run with that. Perhaps the Chinese government or the Saudi government will advise what is work safe.
That's really funny, Bill.
Yeah, having just signed the airport free WiFi agreement (without reading it) to log on, and with a bunch of stranger's kids and their moms sitting around me at the airport gate, it was uncool to have THREE consequtive quotes that included the nude image. Pretty sporting trying to scroll past them on a slow laptop with no mouse.

They probably thought you were a pervert or just creepy.
Perhaps a simple notation for "mature" threads that might not be suitable for children or workplaces would be a welcome addition.
