No problem, hope to see you post your results. I also have some expired Velvia that I just haven't gotten around to finding a subject that I want to use on. I see a lot of portraits done on x-pro'd film that I like, but when I do it, I always seem to think the colors are yuck. Probably just my viewpoint due to knowing what the original scene looked like.

I will, but it may be awhile.

Photography has nothing to do with reality.

    Thank goodness!

    Re: April portraits

Here is my first x-ray film shot:

    Hayaa by february71, on Flickr

Green X-ray film, shot @ ISO 50, f8 1/4. Developed in D23 stock for 4.5 mins @ 30C. Scanned with Epson 4990, level adjustment & spot healing PS. Not Stripped.

I have posted this in another thread, but since its still April I thought I should

Please comment and what is this HX in the film, something like a watermark of the film brand, but why would they do that. Please check the following points:

    1. Is the film ok, I mean not fogged, just want to make sure as i cut it in iPad App safelight+
    2. Exposure is ISO 50 setting ok
    3. Development

    Cheers

Hi Raffay, I really like this portrait and think you have done well with the framing, pose, exposure and development. I've no idea what the HX lettering is - it seems bizarre that film would have any type of "watermark". Out of interest, where did you buy the film from?

    Re: April portraits

Raffay, to me it looks like maybe your ipad fogged it while it was laying on top of the box?
You can see more lettering at the top of the door frame to the right. I could tell you for certain
if I could see the cover on your box of film.

Hi Joe, picture of the box of the film is on the images shot on x-ray forum, but this was scanned with epson 4990 not iPad.

    Hi Raffay,
That's exactly what happened. Your safelight app on the ipad is not safe.
The "watermark" is an exact image of the film box. The film was exposed slightly
while laying on top of the box. See what I'm saying?

Joe you are a life saver, why didn't I think of that. You are so right, I guess I have to cut the film in the dark. I am just thinking how good this picture would've been if it was not exposed, wow, I am so excited with the possibilities. Thank you once again.

    Cheers
