    Antique images of photographers

This arrived today as part of an email from a photographer friend. I thought it might be fun to post it here and ask others to post images they may find of other photographers of a bygone era out working with their large format gear. The older the better. Mods, if this needs to be moved, please feel free.

It would be difficult to find an image of a working photographer more different, or more interesting than this.

This is one of my favorite types of old photos. I have dozens!

Check out the poor guy in the middle who dropped his dark slide, as well as the guy on the left with a death grip on the corner of his camera. That's Charles Lindbergh coming out of the door.

I love the mix of camera types here: hand-cranked movie cameras next to SLRs next to press cameras. Plus whoever took the photo...

Back home I have a book with a great photo of a bunch of guys using flash powder in the middle of the night. The flash from the printed photo has caught the smoke from another photographer's flash, giving a neat effect.

Our spiritual ancestors, hard at work!

Glad there wasn’t an Internet then.

We’d be reading their bickering posts, not seeing them in the field.
