Re: New Blog Posting on PROSCH Shutters 1883-1906

I have a Prosch duplex, with rotary stops and no-name rapid rect. lenses. It is very finely crafted and one of my favorite pieces. I'm looking for a poofy bulb and rubber hose to trigger it. After 1900 the shutter competion really heated up with the Optimo, Volute, and ultimately the Compur displacing the pre-1900 shutters. I thought this happened more quickly than it apparently did. The only real competion the Prosch seems to have had in the 1890s was the B&L Unicom, a fairly unreliable and inconsistent mechanism in my own personal experience.
