Anyone ever repair the dial on a Gossen Luna Pro?

I have one that works really well, but the outer knob that you grasp to turn the dial has a tendency to slip relative to the inner plate with the markings.

It would probably be a simple thing to fix if I could figure out how to get the dial assembly off the meter. Preferably without breaking something!

The metal center piece with the sun/moon on it is actually a screw which holds the dial assembly to the body of the meter. Is it tight?

I wondered if it might be but I can't budge it one way or another so it must be tight. I noticed if I pushed the plastic ring firmly toward the body of the meter it seems to work better.

Yep, the center of the dial is a screw, and is a regular right hand thread. Get a ring spanner and you can unscrew it.

I have fixed several that have the common problem of loose dials, but when I got one that had more serious issues, I was never able to carry out a more involved repair. The circuit and the mechanism are both quite complex. However, when it works it's an excellent meter, and they're quite affordable so I just bought more of them.

A thin sheet of neoprene, or one of those sheets you use to grip a jar lid - press it against the metal piece with your thumb and turn.
