Petzval type lens idenfication

Hello all,

I got this lens from a local seller. I believe it is a "Petzval typle" lens. It has a "W. Herrmann 8C Berlin" engraved on the lens. I've tried to find its background from web but I found nothing about "W. Herrmann". Can someone help and provide more information on this lens? Is it a "true" petzval lens?

I know little about this lens - see them once in a while on th ebay, but not often...

I have a much bigger one than yours - and yes they are petzval type lenses...

Thanks gandolfi! Mine is my first petzval and I had taken it out for a test. Nothing really good can be found on those negatives. Still need more time on learning how to use it right.

Can you share some shots using your Herrmann?
