Anyone can identify this linhof camera

Here I have a linhof camera
    Serial number is 13575
I measured the ground glass and it is exactly 17cmx12cm.
clearly it is not fit able to modern 5x7 film holders.

Could you please tell me what is this type of linhof camera and what holders I can use with it. Thank you!!

No expert - but it is a pre-war 13x18cm model. These use one-sided holders (although doubled sided and film packs may have been made) , which may be difficult to find.

This is from a period when Linhof were just a very good maker, rather than an elite maker.

There is a specific thread associated with Linhof serial numbers. Just search for it and post in there.

I have the same camera, serial # 13760 with a double sided standard spring GG back. Bob does not have information on Pre War cameras. Very nice camera that weighs far less than Post War ones. Mine is 7 pounds with a lens. There is one for sale on eBay right now.

Information is kind of slim on these cameras. I gather they are called Technika Standard. Since 5X7 and 13X18 have the same external film holder dimension the camera can use either.

Here is a 9x12 1946 Linhof III, currently on auction in Sweden.
It shows the type of film holders you should be looking for.

Randy Moe: are you using the camera to take photos? Whats kind of holder is it and how to find it?
If finding holders is difficult, i'm thinking of attach a normal 5x7 back to the camera to use with normal 5x7 ones

Steven Tribe: these holders look to be one sided.
I've asked the ebay seller of this camera type. He said these following ones could be fit. Should I buy them?

"There seem to be two of them in eBay Germany . One is here:

    And the other one here:

Re: Anyone can identify this linhof camera

Mine can use standard American style 5 X 7 double sided holders. Works fine. Lens boards are anther difficulty. I have a custom machined adapter so I can use modern boards.

Learn a little German before shopping German eBay. Both sales you list are fairly easily to read as "Linhof 13x18 Doppelseitiges Planfilmmagazin Planfilm Magazin Film Holder" which means Linhof 13x18 (NOT 5X7) Double sided sheet film holder. They will not work.

If you can modify your camera in a non destructive way, why not? Or find the the single sided film holders that will work. Your camera is Pre War II, at least 70 years old. Parts are non existent.

Or put it in the glass case and admire the workmanship. Buy a much cheaper wood 5 X 7. I have 5 X & B&J's that I can barely give away. But I am not giving them away.

Buying from Germany takes plenty of patience. I just waited 3 weeks for a lens board.

This is the type, but wrong size. I have never used this type of holder and back. Do some more research. I could be wrong. It happens.
