Used Umax Powerlook 3000 shows hard-edged colored lines or streaks

    Hi everybody,

I just bought a used Umax Powerlook 3000 that is supposed to be in working order. But all scans have hard edged color streaks along the scanning direction. To me, it looks like a sensor issue. Does this form of graphic error look familiar to anybody?

I tried cleaning the mirrors nevertheless, changed the internal SCSI termination for an active external one. Nothing so far seems to make it change for the better. This is a reflective scan of a white paper sheet.

    Any help is most welcome!

    Best wishes,
    Christian

    Christian,

I bought a used Umax Powerlook 3000 last year for $200. It worked when I hooked it up but was very dirty so I took it all apart and cleaned it. I had to remove all the plastic and foam from the cover which was deteriorated. I am using the SANE software on Linux and have a terminator on the SCSI cord. Mine works great and I have not seen color issues that have bothered you.
