    Long lens for 5x7

Hey all, I'm about to be in the market for a longer lens for my 5x7. Currently I'm shooting a 210 doing land/seascapes but the foreground dominates the image. I've been thinking about the Nikkor M 300mm or the Fujinon T 400mm. What would you guys suggest as a long lens for this kind of work?

I have a 19" Artar on my Linhof and quite like it. I've tried the 24" and it works OK at landscape distances but I find it a bit longer than I really like. Great on the 8 x 10 though.

The Fujinon 400T is a large, heavy weight lens. It's not all that sharp

The Nikon/Nikkor 300M is the better option.

My longest 5x7 lens is an old uncoated 14" APO Artar in a dial set compur. I like it alot.

Decided to go with the Nikon M 300mm, got it for a steal! Do you guys think it'll be a big difference from a 210mm? I just want to get the foreground out of the picture and focus in on the further distanced stuff. I think a Fuji C 450mm would be great, but it's out of my price range right now.

In my experience, i have not found a big difference between a 210 and a 300 for 5x7. There is an appreciable difference when you use a 400 or 450.

But maybe the 300 is just enough for the compositions you are looking for.

How long are your bellows, anyway? I'd prefer a minimum being one half again the length of the lens---450mm of bellows for a 300mm, 600mm of bellows for a 400mm lens. Just sayin'
