C'mon Michael. Seagulls have lots of good traits...they're "assertive"...they can fly...they sing like earthbound angels... :)
That's some nice stuff, Frank. I love the Zappa allusion, too ;)
Film that has gone bad does nothing more than get slower over time. Perhaps this film was victim to condensation?
Rich, you beat me to it. I do it with a little scribe I made for the purpose. I can write the information very small, smaller than most pens or markers can go. Also, it cannot be washed off...
Funny you should post that. I was browsing some of the images in his gallery from that show and wondering a little more. I wish I had a chance to see the prints. As for the show, I just remember...
Good evening. I just purchased this lens quite cheaply and would love to try it as a taking lens. Does anyone know, or know how I can find out, the thread size and pitch to mount this beast? I can...
Bingo, Mr. petronio. Mac's always seem to be compared to those "Dell jalopies" instead of their real competitors.
Yeah, I'd love to get a new G5 but it's just too much cash. ANyway, I wanted to chime in with my feelings from quite a bit of experience in the professional digital video editing and effects field....
Aren't those gorgeous cameras? I bought Jim Galli's 5x7 Korona II a couple weeks ago and have been very antsy to give it a go. It's my first large format camera so I have to do blasted things like...

Perhaps. That would be a welcome surprise. I'm rather fond of lenses with quirks and "character" all their own.
Hi. I just bought a couple enlarger lenses pretty cheaply off of ebay. A 7.5" Wollensak Raptar f4.5 enlarger lens and an 8.5" Ilex Paragon Anastigmat f4.5 enlarger lens. Has anyone used these to...
So they make new packard shutters but the best variation they have is 1/25th and bulb settings? I was hoping for something more akin to lensboard-mounted shutters in regards to shutter speeds...
You bet it's worth it. I have fallen in love with outdated film. I don't use it when I need assured results, but if you're doing your own thing, you can sometimes get some really interesting stuff...
I've recently purchased an old 5x7 Gundlach Korona. I would love to use appropriate-looking lenses on it and many of them seem to be mounted in a barrel, rather than in a shutter. Are there...
I just purchased a Gundlach Korona (the second variation) 5x7 camera. I bought it with a 4x5 reducing back but I would absolutely LOVE to track down a real 5x7 back for it, like it's meant to have....
