Yes, that's the main disadvantage of the leveling head-- lack of control of a single plane at a time, if you intend to use them for something other than just leveling.
Yes, he seemed to be savoring a moment of serenity with his morning coffee and cigarette. All quiet except the occasional cowbell sound of rigging against the masts.

Beautiful!
Looks great. Probably a lot more stable than the original monorail.

I haven't had any issues with scratching, even fumbling around in total darkness with my makeshift cutting template and a plexiglass scoring knife.
I've had only one incident with creasing, which...
I haven't used it in holders larger than 8x10, but I don't think curl and thinness have caused any focus problems (judging from landscapes at infinity as well as close-up table-top shots). For 8x10...

The SP-8x10 is not air-tight, so pressure doesn't build up with agitating the chemistry. And the SP-445 has a venting cap that can be opened to prevent pressure build-up. So neither pops the tank...
Really nice. I'll have to give the Rollei Supergrain a try.
I like my Ilex 90mm f8 Acugon, bought for <$90. Worth noting is some of these lack filter threads, but a 67mm filter can be attached with tape.
The rail section is about 19.5". (I'm using it at the moment with a 250mm lens that doesn't require very long extensions). The original rail is 26".
I tried to do the same thing with an 8x10 Grover, using plywood scraps, and vslot 8x20 extrusions and gantry cart kits from openbuilds partstore. The aim was to have something compact,...
So much film, so little time
Thanks. Yes, comes to about $0.57/sheet. Not a bad deal.
Another IR shot. Hoya R72 filter. ISO 6. D76 1:1.

Beautiful. What film speed are you shooting it at?
And one at ISO 100, also D76 1:1, with unfortunate crease which you warned about in previous posts.

This was shot at ISO 160, also D76 1:1. No filter. These are hasty Epson 750 scans at default setting. There's a lot of optimization that could be done.

Thanks Daniel. I used D76 1:1, 14min at 68f, in the Stearman daylight tank (one potential issue: a flat tank light this might not be perfect for a film that tends to curl so much-- the edges might...
Thanks for pointing this film out. Just got some (2014 expiration). Tried cutting some in the dark, for 8x10 (8 x 9.5 to be precise). After making a template, cutting goes smoothly enough. I tried...
