Mine are actually big babies, but it seems to keep the riff-raff away while inviting kids and boy scouts who I enjoy showing how that big strange camera works.
That's what I do also. I always get asked "Does she bite?". Me, "If she has to.".
Where are you?
Thanks. It was a very peaceful place.
Thanks.
Here are a few I did this summer and fall.

Keith -- Thanks! I may head over there and check out some parks again this summer. I went over to Providence Canyon last year and really enjoyed it, although I didn't come back with any shots I...
Almost all of my recent work has been done within driving distance of Birmingham. Take a look at the locations of the photos in my recent gallery for some places to visit. My email is on the main...
Very Nice! Muted. Understated. Simple. Life. Not depressing at all. One of the first I purchased.
The maximum F-stop is the biggest difference. My F8 is the lens I use the most. It can be a little challenging to focus under low light though.
I went up to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park a couple of weeks ago for a long weekend, hoping to spend most of it capturing wintery scenes. Well it was a little too wintery. A snowstorm came...
Thanks. I hope I didn't give the impression that I develop color myself. I don't. That would be e-six labs in Atlanta. :)
Lots of great images in this thread!
This one is from last weekend near a place called Peavine Falls in Oak Mountain State Park. I don't do a lot of color 4x5, but I had an expired box of Portra...
I just went through this exercise myself for a trip to Central America in a couple of weeks. I wanted decent resolution from a film camera for landscapes in average light, something fast for those...

Ken,
Compared to your beautiful flower photographs, I don't think so. Sunrise or dusk with a long exposure and slow film, on a damp day, works best for me.

Caught my eye. I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Nana,
These are all outstanding. The composition, lighting, and tones. What strikes me is the apparent sharpness in these JPG images. How were they created? Are these scans from prints or scans...
I was trying to make a photograph of this church, but the composition I wanted, was obstructed by a large tree. After thinking about the final image, and consulting my dog Daisy, I felt that...
Every one of these, with various films, are developed with D76 1:1, except the color of course:

Me: No response. Situation controlled.

No, sorry.
Mine came with a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 carrier which I used to use. That was the largest negative the model I had could handle. It to had a two prong plug.
Thanks Vaughn, I'll try that. I also thought it might be interesting to try a miniature using some exaggerated tilt and shift.
I bought a 300mm lens for 4x5 about a year ago after working with only a 90 and 180 forever, and even though I'd pull it out a lot, I just couldn't see anything with it, until last weekend. Here's my...
I bought my first used lens there many years ago, and still use it. As I looked up from the glass display cases I remember being astounded to see real prints from Ansel Adams and other famous...
Wow! They're all wonderful, Chris. I like this one the best. A little quieter light. Nice framing and composition.
I do like this one! The tones, the light, the shadows. It's exactly where I'd like to spend a quiet afternoon.
Just one little thing I would do, along the right edge, about 60% up there is a small...
I think this really works. Just the other day I was "mining" my negatives and picked out two I originally considered rejects. I imagine that while looking for perfection I throw out too many. Do you...
I really like this. The long shadows, the grass. A very inviting place.
Thanks Jim!
Thanks!
Carey,
It's pretty much a straight print. Development was D76 1:1 at published times. No dodging or burning. I applied a little level and curves, and a slight gradient at the top. I don't know if...
Thank you Jan. It was an ordinary clear sunny day, but very different and peaceful under the canopy of the trees.
I messed up the original link and couldn't figure out how to edit my original post, so I am reposting this with a hopefully, more permanent link.

I think this is excellent advice. Eliminate a variable from the equation. After a 20 year break I found all the films were different so I tried many. I tried FP4, HP5, and TMAX 100 and 400. I found...
I wrote a program that helps me visualize what the proportions of framed artwork will look like. I also use it to convey to framing shops what I want. Here's a screen shot showing the software with...
I've been using D76 1:1 in trays for over 30 years. I know how it works, and I guess I just like the smell. :)
