    Re: BTZS expodev question

It helped me to read the BTZS book 4-5 times, and make notes. Reading some of the old DMax newsletters helped, too as there are several that focus on film testing. You can buy copies of the news...

    Re: BTZS expodev question

If you are metering by the zone system, the lo/hi EV values are what you read with your spot meter. The zone values are the zones where you want to place the readings. I assume you know the program...
  4. Re: Man With A Camera ~ Charles Bronson Shoots LF On 1950's TV Show

The series is also on Hulu - I watched it a few years ago. Good entertainment while scanning film.
  5. Re: Contact Printing Frame for Alternative Processes

Split backs were used with printing out paper so you could open 1/2 of the frame and peel back the paper to see if the exposure was sufficient. I gum print and as others have pointed out, the split...
  6. Re: LOOKING FOR AN EAST COST LAB THAT CAN DEVELOP 20 x 24 COLOUR NEGATIVE FILM

BTZS tubes aren't big enough for 20x24. You will need to use a tube for large color paper. Your best hope is to find someone shooting 20x24 color and get them to develop the film for you.
  7. Re: BACK of the camera wont close properly, help

Reorienting the back is easy - hold the back and raise the flip lever at the top left of the frame. The back assembly will come off in you hand. You can turn it 90 degrees, reinsert it and close the...
  8. Re: BACK of the camera wont close properly, help

I believe your camera has a F2 style back - the levers open and close the back. What happens when you rotate the levers down (to the right in the middle 2 photos)? I believe the lever mechanism is...

  10. Re: BTZS ExpoDev on Apple iPad or iPod? Anyone yet?

You can read the saved files - they are compressed XML. I use TextWrangler - a free app on the Mac. The file will be one long string of data where the fields are tagged <Title>title</Title>. If you...
  11. Re: Some film holders are missing the "L" locks, can I insert some?

Search for right angle hooks - something like this
    http://mdmetric.com/fastindx/TI-31.pdf
You might be able to find a similar size.
  12. Re: BTZS ExpoDev on Apple iPad or iPod? Anyone yet?

I never used it on the Palm, but I find it useful on my iPhone. The developer is responsive - he increased the max filter factor and fixed a bug with viewing notes after I submitted suggestions via...

    Re: Ilford DDX Delta 100

I don't use this film in 4x5 but I tested it once under the BTZS paradigm. Developed in tubes with DDX 1+6 at 68F, N was iso 100, 6:20, N+1 was iso 125, 12:00. The 4:00 time didn't quite reach N-1,...

    Re: Wide Gamut Monitors

No, you need to do both to set up the monitor. White color temperature and brightness are set with the monitor controls. The instrument reads the screen, but you adjust manually. You don't want to...

Re: Help with a Mac Pro

The Quarto 4000 is one of the few cards that can output 10 bit color if you enable OpenGL in Photoshop, and have a monitor that can display 10 bit color and connect via displayport connector. The DVI...

    Re: Wide Gamut Monitors

I believe the wide gamut monitors have higher quality panels. I have a Dell 22'' monitor and a NEC 3090 which I profile with ColorEyes software. The Dell is too red and can't be completely white...

Re: Parts for Sinar F series?

    You might check macmaster.com - http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastics/=kvqcqb
They have many, many, many kinds/shapes of plastic stock (and everything else).
