I am leaning towards the Fuji Hunt C-41 kit. My only real concern is chemistry shelf life. The Fuji literature states that mixed developer is only good for 4-6 weeks...
I am about to start developing my 4x5 color negatives at home and I would like to see if anyone has an opinion on which chemistry brand to use, or advice on how to get the best results.
For...
Thanks Dan for pointing out that thread. All of us can spend many social distancing days diving into your encyclopedia.
My camera's minimum extension is 60mm, the 58mm Super Angulon XL actually has a flange focal length of 70mm. I technically do not have to use a recessed lens board, but choose to because the bag...
One thing that I didn't see mentioned is that you can find different depths of recessed lens boards. A 20mm recess if much more difficult to use than a 10mm recess. Look at the limits of your camera...
On the .info home page under lenses you can find a "Comparison Charts" link that will take you here: https://www.largeformatphotography.info/lenses/
That has most information you would need.

Matt,
I use the Lee Filter 100mm System, the old school style since they just redesigned it.
So the bad news is if you want to use 3c with that system your best bet is to buy the special 100mm...
Matt,
In the instant photos in my post there is no grad filters applied. This was a test only of the fall off with the Schneider CF3 on the 58mm Super Angulon XL. I have found that instant film it...
Matt,
I use a Center Filter 3 with my 58mm Super Angulon XL. My understanding is the 3 and 3c are very similar, but I know Schneider would say otherwise. I have not noticed any major fall off when...
So today I made a quick video to perhaps better explain what is going on and demonstrate my findings. You can find the video on Vimeo here:

Once again this is a...
That is correct, I will try to shoot and link to a video tomorrow. It is odd, but only occurs when a bright light is near the edge of the frame.
I did a bit of testing of my theory and it is a reflection off of the Fidelity Elite film holder when there is a very bright light source not hitting the film area, but striking the perpendicular...
This light only occurs when I am shooting with my 90mm when there is a strong light source outside the image on the film. In this case it is a bank of windows to the right of the frame. I use wide...
I am looking for suggestions for solving what I believe is a light reflection off my Fidelity Elite film holder onto the film when using wide angle lenses (please see photos below). When shooting an...
nicemate1,
I would like to suggest a different option. Cut out a piece of mat board, cardboard, or whatever you have with a 4x5 inch hole out of it. Attach a string to the bottom with knots at...
One thing to be careful of when entering any competition is to make sure you read the fine print. Unfortunately many of the contests also come with causes that state they can use your entry in anyway...
I have a second hand Shen Hao HZX45-iia and the sticky focus racking was a problem for me when I first got the camera. The rack and pinion on mine was a little dirty when I received it, so I cleaned...
This interview was posted on NPR last week and updated today, at the end it states that they will not decide until late spring or summer:

There is a slight difference in brightness between the two, maybe about a half stop brighter. For me this was not the main selling point, but I want to be upfront about what I use. In terms of...
I also have the Shen Hao HZX45-IIA. For me I have to have a fresnel under the ground glass with wide angle lenses. The Shen Hao ground glass holder has a recessed channel that the Shen Hao fresnel...
B&H dropped the price to $36.95 yesterday, Adorama still has it at $49.95. Maybe until the big two figure out what they are doing we should all just support Badger and other "smaller" retailers who...
I just spoke with Badger Graphic, they have not been informed of the price increase by Kodak. They are also currently out of stock of Ektar 4x5, but have more coming in next week. They will honor the...
Thanks Dan, but all information on the link you provided that includes the Tele-Arton 270 from the 1950's, or 240mm or 360mm lenses from more recent years. Schneider just doesn't have any information...
I am looking into purchasing a Schneider 270mm Tele-Arton for my field camera. However, there seams to be at least three versions of that lens and I am having trouble finding the specs for them.

George,
Thanks for the reply. The CF IIIA has a 67mm rear thread and a 86mm front thread, just like the III. The front thread is in a recessed channel if you want to add additional filters to it....
Anyone know someone who I can direct message about this topic? I know this is a rather specific question, but any help would still be greatly appreciated.

Recently I came across a Schneider Center Filter IIIA at a very good price so I bought it to try out on my 75mm f5.6 Super Angulon (I know this filter is for the 90mm f8, but I gave it a shot). After...
Just measured mine. The ground glass is nearly 4x5 inches (3 31/32 x 5), or 101mm x 127mm. The frensel is smaller on the length 3 31/32 x 4 13/16, or 101mm x 122mm, so it can fit in the recessed...
