I'm sorry for your loss Vaughn
I bought all new darkslides for my Toyo film holders back in September. I have zero confidence in them now after reading this post. I've only made a handful of exposures using them since thankfully....
Very curious what they have to say
I imagine you'll want the lens somewhere between 5.6 and 11ish.
Bump. Some of this will help Matt and his continued use of his darkroom when he returns home.

This is the page for our friend Matt. He's a fellow large format photographer and all around good dude.
It was a nice interview with good, solid pictures as usual. Congrats!
I bet it's from the bellows as well, but I am curious as to what brand camera Robert is using as I have a theory based on a certain brand's original equipment bellows material.
What brand camera are you using?
Is anyone selling one of these yet? I'd like to buy one.
Is there an interest out there in a mural print making workshop?
Post the scales here if you can. I once used the 305mm g-claron and it truly was noticeably sharp. I was considering the idea of using one again recently in the 210mm focal length for some close up...
If anyone knows of a way to truly lock the front focusing TIGHT, please let me know. I've had a few Toyo metal fields and always think back fondly on them, but it was always a deal breaker that, at...
Thanks Bob. That was kind of what I was asking. So it doesn't somehow simply connect to a Copal shutter? It's hard to tell from the pictures and the seller's vague description
Anyone have any experience with these?

I agree. I mean this hobby, art practice, etc. is heavily reliant on gear. I always find it strange when people who are into it, don't get psyched up on gear. I go to the "For Sale" section...
I'd buy one as well
I can't remember if I tried that, but I'm almost certain I did, because I was having trouble removing the anti-halation layer and believe I was taking the film out for an additional fully submerged...
I had marks while using HP5 in 8x10" in the 3005 Expert drum. The marks were always on the base side (the side against the wall of the drum). Kodak TXP never showed any marks so I went back to...
The Beseller motor bases work indeed, but honestly they aren't great and especially with larger drums. They're slow and fairly unsteady. This is much much nicer and has speed adjustments.
I've been waiting for people to start making these. Please continue and I would happily purchase one as I'm sure many others would as well. Well done.
Ari,
I agree that those are viable options and actually work pretty good. I do have a processor that I use now with one of the newer motors. However, I find it's really not all that necessary over...
I have always wished someone would build something like this for the expert drums. I would happily buy one as I'm sure many would.
Thank you for sharing this John, it is pretty amazing.
If you're scanning 8x10" negatives you can make 32x40" prints easily and have them look sweet. I've done it and have seen it done numerous times on just an Epson V700 (not even the higher end 750). ...
Anyone use one of these on a Polaroid copy stand? I'm currently using an 8x10 Arca on the stand and it works ok, but I was thinking that one of these might work better. Let me know if any of you...
Yeah it didn't quite solve my problem doing it that way. I can't stress how careful I am with the film during processing, after all that is why I use a Jobo. The Ilford guy (Simon) said to send him...
So some of the stuff from the base side is showing through on the scans and even with emulsion side down I am getting newton rings. Is this how Ilford films are in general? I am not trying to say...
Yeah I tried putting the film as you described with drum full of water after having soaking for a few in a tray and not a whole lot of difference, the base side is still all funky. I sincerely never...
So you had the issue with Ilford films? I pushed Tri-X to the bottom of the drums and maybe anti-halation didn't always come out on its own, but never any of these strange almost textured patterns...
I do, but do you think that is what is causing this?
I can make up to 50x60" silver prints from 8x10. PM me if you would like some more info. I work at:

We are located in MA. We've made prints for many of the greats.
I just processed some Ilford fp4 8x10 sheet film in a Jobo 3005 and the base side is getting some weird drying marks and is riddled with scratches as well. The marks look like some type of effect...
Ok so Xtol seems like the one that will give box speed with FP4. Others have mentioned D76 which is what I was going to try, but does it give the full asa 125 of FP4. I've used Xtol with Tri-X and...
So I decided to try FP4 because of reading on here that it somewhat resembled TXP. I've now used up an entire box and have yet to process any of it. I'll be using a Jobo 3005 and would like to know...
So which 180mm 5.6 multi-coated will cover 8x10 at a close almost macro distance? I have under $600 to spend. Thanks in advance.
Wayne I am curious about the exact same thing! I need a close replacement for the tri-x/ HC110 combo. I really don't care for Xtol so hopefully no one suggests that. I have never made a negative...
