Thanks for everyone's response. The printed guide that came with my full CS3 program stipulates the license is for one machine only and that to install and activate it on a second machine would...
According to Adobe, I can install CS3 on only one machine which will be have to be my desktop; but since I have ver 7.0 on both my desktop and laptop, is it possible to keep ver 7 on my desktop...
Beautiful image of the tree and shadow, Bruce. As I sit here well before sunrise, it was worth getting up for too.
I couldn't resist.
Thanks, Bob.
Any idea how I can find out when a camera with this serial number was made?
Serial # C541427
Agree. I stopped using mine in favor of this which looks more cumbersome, but is far more useful: http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/LE5005/
Glad you did. Apparently I drank the Kool Aid thinking Tango was the best scanner on the market.
ND grads & an 81b
Their order form is seven pages long and I just scanned it (no pun intended), but I didn't notice whether one has a choice of where the scan is to be done, but it appears so from this quote taken...
I'm so disgusted with myself for having bought both a windows desktop and laptop two years ago when I had to upgrade, that I'm no longer talking to myself.
The biggest PITA POS. I will NEVER get...
Thanks to all for your input. I recently spoke with Jeff at WCI and am impressed with his knowledge and professionalism which I'm sure translate well to his Tango scans.
I'm leaning toward WCI...
Though I live in the arid Southwest, I take no chances and keep desiccant with all my camera gear and "keeper" CT film. Perhaps not the cheapest, but convenient:...
Before I deal with LF scans, I'm considering having a number of 6x7 cm Velvia slides Tango drum scanned.
I have no experience with either, but I've read good things about both. There's a...
Sorry for your loss. It serves as a good reminder for the rest of us. Trust no one.
Next time, try putting in with your gear some small life-like baby rattlesnakes. Just might give one of those...
Thanks, Claudio. I will investigate.
Have you considered Richard Ritter? http://www.lg4mat.net/
Any recommendations for a great frame shop in the San Fernando Valley or Westside that does good work are reasonable prices?
Particularly interested in Mom & Pop operations over the franchises.
From one of Robert Hitchman's Photograph America articles, this has served me well for most situations.
"When I’m exposing color transparency film, I always want to avoid over-exposing the...
Interesting substitute for a loupe; I'll have to try it.
Given the tightness of the spring back on my SV45U, the suggestion of adding a bail seemed like a great solution to help minimize potential camera movement when un/loading film holders.

Brian, I'm not a fan of flash, but your site's flash-lite and a pleasure to view. Love your work.
This may be of interest.

Oren, Alan, Doug & Ted: excellent suggestion about a bail. I fired off an inquiring e-mail to Richard Ritter.
I agree, John, that shooting Polaroids isn't very useful for checking critical focus,...
The spring back is relatively tight, but I presume it's supposed to be if it's to maintain a light-tight seal. I am able to insert holders, but the Polaroid 545 being that much clunkier than the QL...
I hate to show my ignorance, but...
I'm trying to increase my percentage of "keepers" and I'm hell bent on maximizing stability of my 4x5 when setting up to shoot. Learning the hard and expensive...
I'm no expert but also have heard that QLs work best in the Fuji holder. I've been using them exclusively in the QL holder w/o any problems - except, as Don wrote, with my technique.
The Ebony rep that replied to my e-mail wrote that adding a second socket would be relatively inexpensive, but that I'd have to ship the camera back to Japan.
My first 4x5, a Tachihara, spoiled me with its two tripod sockets. Silly me assumed this configuration was standard (it just made too much sense not to be - like cars having four wheels). I didn't...
In a continuing effort to improve results, I'm re-examining my LF techniques and habits and their effects on camera stability.
One gremlin is that the tripod socket on this Ebony model seems too...
My initial Pentax spotmeter was the analog version. Fortunately it malfunctioned and forced me to buy the digital version.
I got the Hi-Lux Brilliant Matte (engraved 1" grid), screen for my 4x5 Ebony and paid $225.
Prices will vary depending on what you want. Your best bet is to talk to Bill.
I wasted a half dozen type 54s recently. I later tried my backup spare holder, with a new box of 54s, and had no problems.
Just received my new Maxwell screen and love it. Worth every penny; and you couldn't ask for a nicer guy to deal with.
Eric, try this site http://www.mattclara.com/maxwell/index2.html Give him a...
I regularly bushwhack in the local rattler-infested and cougar-populated mountain parks looking for the elusive interesting scene to shoot.
Last spring while following a creek in search of subject...
I can't speak to the DI screen, but I found the Satin Snow screen brighter than the stock screen on my 4x5 Tachihara. And for the money, there's no better buy in LF equipment.
Thanks for everyone's input.
It's hard to break the Fujichrome habit, but I may have to reconsider E100VS...
In several weeks I’m off to Redwood country where browns and greens predominate. However, I’m hoping to capture what little autumn color there is if my timing is right – the occasional red-oranges...
I prefer the 20" Gepe cloth with disc lock. They're less expensive here http://tinyurl.com/ohst5 than here http://tinyurl.com/ql5ns
