I have always scratched my head when looking at lens charts. I read that the angle of coverage for an 8x10 is 350 on one place, and 420 on another place. All I know is my 210 caltar iin does not...
I would agree with Mr. Crisp. Heat damage.
C. D. Keth is right.
It's real easy to get confused when you are new and these guys are tossing around terms, instructions and suggestions. It is good information just difficult to visualize. ...
Very nice opening image. Easy to navigate, not cluttered.
BBB is a scam. My business had a complaint filed with them. Long story but we were in the right he was an idiot. I’m not a member of the BBB. They called and literally tried to extort money from me...
Wonder why they all have what looks like microphones on their cameras?
"If you don't like the sandbox you are welcome to take your toys and find a sandbox you like." Said by some random guy in a tiny niche camera brand specific forum a long time ago. Stills rings true...
Was there a change in the rules? I can't see pictures. I would really like to see the images being discussed right now.
That was a good watch. Thanks.
Can I mix a tiny amount of dichromate in some water and see if it turns color?
I have the kit below and am wondering how to test if the pyro and dichromate (sp) are still good. They are OLD. Like late 80s or early 90s. I want the Dichromate for carbon printing and no idea...
I want to do tricolor carbon printing. That is the ultimate goal. In the future. Just looking for literature right now.
Sandy I fully expected to have to do this digitally. Is there literature out there that covers this?
Even something smaller than a book but something detailed with clear explanations. I was wanting to read about the process. I know very little and tend to shy away from the computer processing, But...
Cool. Thanks Koraks. I will start there.
I have some blue and green sensitive X-ray film coming and I will need to establish effective film speed. I have forgotten the process. It has been so long since I have even thought about this that...

I just went to cxsonline.com and they no longer have 8x10 film listed.
Anyone know of another place to order it from?
His 50 year old camera was "at the end of its life"? Wonder what he would say about my 2 Kodak 2Ds. That made me chuckle :D
Adelorenzo,
How has that unit been working for you?
is the grain that obvious in contact prints?
I have never even considered Rodinal due to the fact that I was told it accentuated the grain. This was back when I was shooting and enlarging smaller formats. I hate grain, which is why I moved up...
Sorry, I was not clear. I was wanting to crop from the top down to get rid of the trees.
AnteroP
I am inclined to agree but if you crop to just below the trees I really like the subtle lines that lead tot he hill.
?
I guess if you choose not to use any adjustments.
Why are you using the MH bulb Jim? Is it because of the double emulsion?
I've been looking for a publication. You would think it would be on the net somewhere.
Bill, what developer are you using?
I am not experiencing them. I just got my hangers and tanks and would like to avoid geting them. I can't find an explanation about how to use them on the net. So, I am looking for advice.
What are they and what causes them? How can I avoid them?
I thought I understood but I have read, on here, two different explanations. One is that it is from not enough agitation using wire...
I have a 1000w MH system I used to use with my classroom hydroponics garden, and I have the makings of an 8 bank BLB system just not sure which is the better avenue to set up as I take the leap into...
I get it. Thanks.
Is it the exposure to oxygen or does the two parts mixed together work to oxidize it quickly as well?
I have been shooting LF 4x5, 5x7, and 8x10 since the early nineties. The astronomical cost of film, back surgery, and life issues pushed me out of LF for the last few years. I recently stumbled...
