I'll give it a try. BTW, I've never used Naphtha. I'll snag some on Amazon. Any particular brand I should look for?
Very cool Paul. I would definitely give this a try. I am mechanically inclined to some degree.
Thanks
I wonder if there are any online sources for servicing this shutter myself or a vender?

Thanks Paul. Bummer, there must be something wrong with the shutter mechanism. It fires right after I recock the shutter. I have an ILEX which works exactly as you describe.

Thanks for the link Brian.

Would someone in the know tell me the operation of this lens, please? I can't believe I'm unable to figure it out. I understand what C, H, G, and A (probably) are used for. <duh> I'm simply trying to...
Thanks, that's what I will do.

Hi,
The ground glass on my Calumet 8x10 was broken while moving. I've never needed to replace it in the past and was wondering if 8x10 GG (exact size) will fit. I've taken measurements but it's...
Thanks
I am looking for a loupe for my Wista, which has a 4" long popout hood. I wear glasses, and my eyes aren't what they used to be.
Thanks,

If MY screw is broken, any suggesting on getting the knob off as described in 1)? Looks like someone twisted if off.
Thanks Kumar. I saw that but I really didn't want to remove the pins on the lens.

Is there a way to mount a Mamiya Macro K/L KL 140mm F/4.5 ML-A RB67 Pro S SD RZ67 lens to my Horseman L45?

Thanks very much, so there is hope.

Looking for some help. I have a Horseman L45 with a broken knob. See photos. I also have a Horseman rear standard and wondering if the knob can be removed from the standard and placed on the L45?

Anyone know of a source for buying the retaining clips that hold the GG in place for a Calumet C1 8x10? If not, does something exist that's comparable that works? On another note, has anyone tried to...
I snagged a Majestic 1903 Gearhead today for 50 bucks on OfferUp. I'm not familiar with these whatsoever. It has a 6x4.5" plate/platform on the top. It's supposed to be rated for 35 pounds according...
Thanks ...
Dunno if I made the wrong choice buying the Cambo SCH 3D since it doesn't have that large plate to increase the surface area to mound the C1 on. Guess it would make a pretty interesting doorstop at...
... ended up with a Cambo SCH 3D.

Thanks, found one.
Thanks, I have a RSS ball head but I'm looking for a gear head for the C1 that is compatible with the Gitzo.
I have an old Gitzo 1325 (with NO adjustable center column on mine) tripod that I purchased years ago in great condition and used for my Pentax 67. I was wondering if it can handle the heavy Calumet...
Would you mind posting a close up of the 3D printed part that broke. Would if be possible to fabricate a lightweight aluminum frame to hold the bellows in place and screw it to the front standard...
Just to clarify, are you taking about the latest model 8x10 Mark II?
-JW:
Once you receive it and have time to use it, I'd like to know how stable the front standard is and what it can handle lens weight wise.
I haven't a clue what's underneath. I thought it was simply a piece of ground polished glass with a grid. That's why I wanted to remove it. The view through the GG seemed really dim, especially the...
Thanks Kumar, for me it's always nice to know what I'm getting into. Underneath?

I was hoping someone has direct experience removing the ground glass on a Wista 45N? I assume I remove the screws shown in the picture after removing the rotating back? If so, what should I expect...
Keith, I got it. It was just super hard to turn. The threads in the bore are probably buggered up a touch. I'll run a tap through it and see. There's only like one and a half threads on the 1/4-20...
Thanks, I tried that but I wasn't able to unscrew the 3/8" (down through the bottom). It seems like it just started, maybe a half thread engagement but then wouldn't turn any further. Of course I...
Instead of starting a new thread I thought it might be appropriate to ask this question too. For starters I have the black model. How to you reverse or flip the 1/4 -20 thread IF you wanted to use...
I've had the same problem. Not only on PM's but posting in the forum. I've also received several 'database error' messages for the last week. I've even had to log back into the BBS several times...
Thanks for the suggestion Ken, it's appreciated. I have the ability to make this from 'machining an object' perspective. I just don't have a complete understanding of LF camera components. BTW,...
There's a lip on the backside of the spacer. The purpose of it being to center the spacers in the bore of the lens board. It doesn't protrude past the backside of the lens board and is flush with the...
Sorry Larry, I'm a noob to LF, i don't understand the terminology.
