  1. Re: Rolleicord I Compur Shutter full disassembling?

Thanks for the info, but the google couldn't help me to find the manual how to disassemble the Compur C00 shutter. Thus I posted the question here.

Thanks, but this is later manual. It...
  2. Rolleicord I Compur Shutter full disassembling?

    Hello,

I decided to return to the life my old Rolleicord I camera (okay, it's not the LF stuff, but here people know what Compur shutters are), but after testing speeds of its shutter I've...

    Re: Strange Ross Petzval lens

Thank you all for your replies!

The dimensions of the lens elements of Ross No.3A in this book are the same as of my Ross lens.
But the difference of the focal length is still strange. I'll...

    Re: Strange Ross Petzval lens

I already have found this ad somewhere in the Internet. But the scheme of the lens structure in this ad shows that the front and the back lens elements are equal in size. Mine ones have difference of...

    Strange Ross Petzval lens

Recently I aquired a big Ross Portrait lens. On the one side of the rack&pinion barrel there is a sign "Ross London 13766" and on the other side: "No. 3 A.P."
The disassembling showed that it's a...
  6. Re: Dial-Set Compur shutter: adjusting fast speeds?

Do you know how to degauss them? I never heard of such procedure.
  7. Re: Dial-Set Compur shutter: adjusting fast speeds?

Thank you, but I made the cleaning by lighter fluid (but not oiling the gears) before I checked the speeds.
  8. Re: Dial-Set Compur shutter: adjusting fast speeds?

See the attached table. The top row is the marked speeds. The bottom row (red) is the real speeds. I suppose they are differs slightly above 30%.
  9. Dial-Set Compur shutter: adjusting fast speeds?

    Hello,

I recently made a simple shutter speed tester and checked the speeds of my old dial-set Compur shutter No.87654, which was lying unusable for a long time. As everybody can guess, the...

    Re: Puyo lens

I have the similar lens but my lens has the word "Trousse" instead of "Tele", made by Darlot, No.36667.
But! The lens has the different design. The lenses are the same: plano-convex on front with...

  12. Re: TT&H Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" lens with the jammed aperture. What to do?

Jim, what surprises me is that I cannot find any screws on the aperture ring and on the exterior of the barrel on the whole. I guess that the barrel is molded thus it's impossible to disassemle it...
  13. Re: TT&H Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" lens with the jammed aperture. What to do?

Here I attached the photos of the lens barrel. I removed all glass cells. The problem is that I don't see any ways how to disassemble the barrel in its middle to remove the iris without breaking it....
  14. Re: TT&H Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" lens with the jammed aperture. What to do?

Okay, I'll think on your proposal :)

Seriously: how to remove this ring? I disassembled the lens but couldn't find any screws, etc. that let me remove it. From the front of the lens there is the...
  15. Re: TT&H Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" lens with the jammed aperture. What to do?

Thanks for the idea! Unfortunately I'll have to add $40 for the shipping to USA and back. In total it'll cost me $90-115. Plus the cost of the lens itself as I got it $20. In total the lens will cost...
  16. TT&H Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" lens with the jammed aperture. What to do?

    Hello friends,

Recently and by occasion I've acquired the old brass Taylor Hobson Cooke Anastigmat "Series III" 7 1/2 inches f/6.5 lens. The glass of the lens is in superior condition. In fact I...

Ole, if the Industar has the comparable optical performance to the Dagor, plus it has two advantages of one stop more and the coating, so why LF photographers...

  20. 12" Dagor for portraits on the 8*10" wetplate?

    Hello friends,

Looking for a new lens to replace my Industar-13 300/4.5 on my 8*10" (actually 18*24cm) Russian FKD camera I was proposed to buy the old brass lens on the lensboard with no shutter...
