.... and produce the Holy Grail Softness! Unfortunately for us humans, our eyes and brain could not perceive such beauty...
Thank you Emil. This is a very nice picture indeed. The softness is very light but wonderful!
By the way, did you hand painted the red pattern on the print?
It is an intriguing lens indeed. This auction was for an Opale/Saphir lens. You are right about the Opale being a modified tessar. This lens can be set as a tessar (Saphir) or as an anachomatized...

The best way to do it is...

Thank you Pali.
It was a hell of job to make this picture!

SWIFT is an international bank code, not specifically European. If you have an IBAN, it should do the job.
Sorry , I should have said "invoice" instead of "tax invoice" ("tax invoice" here in...
I don't see any problem to do an international bank transfer. Send them your bank account number (must be an IBAN + your bank physical address + your bank SWIFT code). The publisher will have to pay...
Bienvenue au club!

Hi Norm
Good luck with your studies! It is a bit a pity to do an advanced Black&White course with only a 35mm camera. Medium format are very cheap nowadays (if you exclude the super stars:...
The countdown bag was the first thing I spotted on your picture! I understand your problem. I could neither find a satisfactory solution to carry all my LF gears (linhof 5x7) but this will change as...
Nice camera!

I bought a nice Sironar W 150mm/f5.6 (Sinaron branded) on the devil bay last year. The lens came on a Compur 1 shutter which worked fine since my last hiking in the New Zealand mountain. All the iris...

Hi welly
I'm quite sure I met you at one of the first Wellington photography meetup 5 years ago.
Surprisingly there are least 10 LF photographers in the Wellington region which is a lot...
As a few of you are not in Wellington during the weekend, the date of the first meeting has been advanced to the Thursday 26th evening
100 members! Wow, very inspiring indeed!
Once the Silver Foundry properly settled, we should organise a Trans-Tasman prints exchange!
I'm certain you will receive a mail from me one day.
Cheers,...
Thank you Gary!
The members might come with a better name.
Cheers, Dominique
Film photographers of Wellington, it is time to gather for the first Silver Foundry meeting!
Uhhh? What is Silver Foundry? Though it does not exist yet and its name is still open to change, it is...
Is this great idea still alive?
10x boxes of 5 x 7 = 205.00 €
I would go with a 5x7 camera. It is a significant increase in size compared to 4x5. Many good and cheap lenses will cover this format. Film is half price compared to 8x10.
You can contact print or...
Got my durst 139 (5x7 enlarger) here in New Zealand for less than NZ$1k. Total cost of my darkroom ~NZ$3k (including stereo, computer, glassware, ph-meter, magnetic stirrer, furniture, chemicals for...
B&H and Badgergraphic charge $50 for the shipping to New Zealand. Wow!
I better have to find a fair retailer...
Thank you all for your quick replies!
The Kaiser "L" seems too long but I will have a try with the Gepe.
I have tried some very flexible cable release since my first post and they hardly fit, I...
Hi all
I recently made a recessed board for my 5x7 Linhof technika.
Here is a picture of the lens board with a Super Symmar 110XL.

Just for info, a 5X7 Technika III was sold for $875 on APUG few days ago (210mm Xenar and linhof tripod included).
I got my Technika III 5x7 with a nice boyer sapphir lens for $500 2 years ago....
Thank you for sharing! The pictures are quite amazing!
Thank you all for your kind comments!
I will post here all the important information relevant to this DIY head in this thread too.
Cheers, Dominique
Unfortunately, I can not find a way to change the thread title.
Note for the new readers: this is a RGB LED head for B&W printing only.
You are perfectly right Drew, but this head will be used for B&W printing only. As mentioned in the text, the red channel is only used as a safe light for B&W printing.
It is technically speaking a...
