Battery checked out OK.
Most Macs don't use off the shelf ATX power supplies. What model G3 do you have?
Change the motherboard battery! Seriously!

Before Lightroom I used Ken's Photoshop Fill technique. It's really the way to go.
Tyler Boley's article should shed some light on the subject. Look at the first row of images. Compare the film scan to the silver contact... lots of lost detail.

64-bit for Mac and Content Aware Fill is worth the upgrade for me... even though Content Aware Fill was in Gimp first!
Yes Lightroom 3 has a whole new imaging pipeline... noise has improved greatly. ACR CS5 will have the same new pipeline.
Here's what I wrote on my flickr page:
Hey... trying out the new...
QT Luong,
What don't you like about the Lynda.com series? I prefer video tutorials than books, but everyone learns differently. Adobe's Classroom in a Book series really is the best of all the...

I just checked IJA's price for Micro-Ceramic Luster... looks like they lowered the price back to a decent price... was about 20% higher a few months ago. Still not as inexpensive as BH's Ilford's...
I used IJA Microceramic Luster for a long time... it's very good but the price went up recently and IJA charges a lot for shipping. So my new favorite paper is Ilford's Gallery Smooth Pearl Paper......

Walter,
How is shadow detail with that Dell 24"? The reason I ask is I have a 3 year old 19" Dell UltraSharp and once calibrated the shadows block up from about 91% to 100%. I say "once...
Have same setup as you Michael and no problems. But the 10.5.x Leopard Mac/Epson driver interface is a lot different than 10.4.x. All the settings are there to change. There's a pulldown menu named...
Thanks for taking a look in Opera...I totally forgot about that browser.
Yep the web galleries are generated in Lightroom with the stock SimpleViewer plug-in. It's a little tricky having more than...
What would you suggest for the top of each page?
I'm pretty sure Eric knows what he's doing as he is a computer scientist at Adobe. You can see his latest work on the new Lightroom 2. Eric developed the new DNG Profile Editor also.
With that...
Thanks for all the constructive feedback!
This site could use a contact forms page for sure. Is there a freeware version anywhere....or free scripts?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I'm still kinda figuring the best approach to navigate to the other galleries without going to the home page. Was a pain just hacking the Simple Viewer Gallery files to work with more than...
I was thinking the name/logo was a little too big also. Thanks I'll make it touch smaller.
Anyone else feel the name/logo is too big?

Hello Everyone,
I just completed a website for a photographer friend of mine.
http://www.thomdesanto.com/
I'd like some feedback on what everyone thinks of it....the good, the bad and ugly....
Earlier this spring the question was raised about the best "affordable" monitor on Apple's Colorsync list.
The 25.5" NEC LCD2690WUXI-BK-SV was the one recommended. It's about $1300.00, but from...
Hi Tyler,
I understand completely your information posted was to clear the myths with Epson's ABW. There are certain Photoshop/Epson Gurus that will tell us that Epson's ABW uses almost no color...
Hi Tyler,
Very convincing evidence showing the advantages of the K7 inks over Epson's K3 ABW.
Here's another convincing comparison.
With that written... I print with an Epson 4800. Since...
What's your workflow?
Did you choose the proper paper profile in Photoshop?
What paper are you using?
What are the printer driver settings?
Try to open it in another Adobe app...then do a save.
I'd recommend staying in 16 bit as long as possible... especially when resampling but that depends on the rip also.
Sending the file to the printer is different story:

Another vote for Richard Kenward and http://www.precision-drum-scanning.co.uk . Great honest person and excellent drum scanner and photographer.
Henry wrote> Get MacJanitor and Diskwarrior.

I use both and also I use AppleJack - a script that is run at startup. If you had that installed it might have helped...but with 95% disk space...
Great you found the problem. What is the oldest OS the airport card will run under?
So did you check the battery to see if it was dead or replace the battery with a new one?
I would think the Mac Geniuses would have zapped the pram, checked the battery and reset the pram via the Cuda/PMU button?
Have you Zapped the Pram?
How to Zap Pram from...
Running a Howtek, Silverfast on 10.4.X should be no problem. deatojef's above post says it all. Aztek is really out to sell their software so they are going to tell you anything to have you switch to...
Sandy did you install Adaptec's driver?
I ask as at one point Apple added native Adaptec drivers to the OS and installing additional Adaptec drivers rendered the card inoperable.

Yep a buddy of mine has same problem with XP and the Epson 2400. I think he went into the system to change the default color work space and that fixed everything.
This is a known issue with Epson printers...
I've seen this problem - dark prints with a calibrated LCD - with a client's Mac/Epson 3800 and could not resolve it. As it turns out there is bad bug...
