The developer in both C41 and RA4 processes must be protected from oxygen, of course. But how about bleach, fix and stabilizer? Does contact with air (oxygen) degrade them too? Or is it a waste of...

I turn lights on after the RA4 print has been in the bleach-fix about 20-30 seconds, and I can't see that the resulting print would be at all different from a print that has been bleach-fixed in...

New try. Spring at Nautela rapids, South western Finland. 6x12 Fuji Pro400H.
I am talking inches, so my exposure times are in the same ballpark as yours. In fact I messed up in the 1st posting, the inch size I am now pritnting is 20x24 = 50x60cm.
But the question is still...
I have printed 4x5 color negatives to max 12x16 size in the past. Now I started printing 16x20, and I have run to a couple of issues. I use Durst L1200 with CLS500 color head (250W bulb) and a...

What is your budget? Anyway, 600 mm is an awful lot for a field camera extension. If you could manage with less extension or use extension tubes for the longest lenses you would have more cameras to...

Here is a picture of the bag.
Yes, the front pockets are big enough for 3 holders each or a 6x12 back.
I have the Ebony in the middle of the main compartment and the lenses 2+2 on top of each other on each side of it, with one...
Thanks for suggestions everybody! Messenger type bags have obvious advantages in the urban enviroment. I don't want the bag look like expensive camera bag, and I want it to be light. Thus I bought a...
A sideline here, a picture from the Berlin wall days when I carried a Mamiya C220f around in a fishing bag
Thank you all so far! A backpack is sort of out of the question, even the Flipside which looked interesting at first. If you are wearing an overcoat, I guess it really isn't so easy to flip that...
What in your opinion is a good bag for a 4x5 field camera if you want to take pictures in the city and go on foot and need a bag that is fast to open and close and light to carry?
In my case it...
Comparision of some important specifications between these two:
Ebony 45S / Shen Hao XPO45-A

Rise 50mm ...
Lachlan, thank you, that is useful information. If it has plenty of movement with a 72mm without a recessed board, then a 65mm (at least with a recessed board) should be no problem. Have you tried a...
I have a Shen Hao PTB45 (Chamonix 045N1 copy). It has its good sides, but I am not very happy with it. Setting it up takes a while and the lack of any locks for zero positions means that you must...

Well, I don't know if anything which has electrolyte capacitators can be called reliable...
I got an AC1200 dirt cheap just a couple of days ago. When I tried to calibrate it, the...
After having looked for an 4x5 enlarger for some weeks I finally got a reasonable offer, a Durst AC1200. I would have preferred buying a Durst Laborator 1200 with a CLS 450 or 500 color head, because...
Thanks! I wanted to know if I can put a Durst 1200 on my darkroom table without the column hitting the roof.:)
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks, but I meant the height of the baseplate+ column, not the total maximum height of the enlarger.
How tall is the column + baseboard of the Durst L1200?
Could someone tell me how tall are the column+ baseplate of a table top Durst Laborator 1200 combined?
Thanks for the information! Flare is a nuisance, better to have a look at multicoated Symmars I guess.
I shoot color film and need an affordable lens or two in the135-210mm range. I have seen quite nice color pictures taken with convertable Symmars on the net, but there is no way of knowing how the...
I am in Europe, VAT+customs is about 25% if I order something from the US.
What to get for Shen Hao PTB45 with 65mm + 90mm lenses:
1) Shen Hao standard ground glass + Ebony wide angle fresnel
OR
2) Ebony standard gg (which includes fresnel) + Ebony wide angle...
I would like to have movements with 65mm when using 6x9.
"Weight of camera: 8 1/4 lbs" = 3.74 kg :(
Too heavy for me but thanks for the link!

As said above, it looks like these.
I thought a lot about the monorails, they would have all the movements, a lot to be found on the used market and prices are reasonable. But there are few monorails that are light and compact enough...
I'm afraid that the above mentioned method might bring the camera bed into the picture when using a 65mm. Anyway, Ebonys are too expensive for me.
I would prefer having a camera with back tilt and none of those have that, do they?
I want to shoot 6x12 panoramas too, and give 4x5" a try as well. Maybe the slippery slope for my wallet, I know :p
