Okey - so I'm not the only one then?
Greetings,
Apparently there are two l.f. forums now? Anywho - anyone know of anyway to contact the folks associated with the MWLFA ? I' ve e-mailed them several times but no soap.
Tor, send me an email, I think I can help
Greetings All,
Hail! and Well MeT!
I am the humble, and I do mean humble, recipient of the largess of Mr. Gittings and Mr. Brewster and the concern and consideration of Dr. Mitch.
Yesterday...
I've been a tad busy of late:

Poor business practices. Japanese company ordered something like 200 8 X 10's for export to Japan. Paid for 'em up front. Never got 'em. Went to court, won company name, trademark, etc. Tried...
Someone contacted me off forum at my old e-mail address asking about the JML 209 . I can't recall the persons name but assume they were male and possibly from E urope? First name Peter? Last name...
Not off the shelf, but you could send the back to any good, reputable camera repair person and they could fix it for you. If you want the springs, you're going to have to hunt all the usual...
Nixon is a diehard user of the larger formats. No handholding there! He started with an 8 X 10 Deardorff and hasn't really left the format, although as noted he ventures into the Super Large ...
Not L.F. but a great artist, nonetheless....

We are of course assuming you meant to exhort us to see
John Waters MOVIE "Pecker"
and not any other possibilities that might occur to minds exposed to Balmer's unique miasma, Hon.
It just seemed logical, in a bizarre sort of way - why would John Sexton go to Baltimore? No great natural vistas in the city, so perhaps he's changing his milleau? And that lead of course to ...
Maybe he's starting a new series? Doing a project with John Waters? Hairdo's of Power? Listen to the Sleeze?
I had two and GAVE them to the fella who used to run the B&W World form and has since gone to work for Pop Photo. He payed shipping from Indiana, but that gives you an idea how highly I think of...
The other day when I fired off the Betax I swear it went "t-pockta t- pockata t-pockata".
It should be easy enough to determine the thread pitch and shaft diameter and thereby acquire an appropriate sized wing-nut. Not elegant, but effective.
Otherwise, Steve Shuart in Kane, PA is a...
FWIW I have a Turner Reich 12/19.7/25" in a Betax # 4 for sale for $200.00 if you're interested. I can send jpgs.
I use it all the time with my 8 X 10 outfit and have no trouble, but then I'm not banging around out in the wilds of Alaska or wherever either.
I carry the mostly empty camera case in my left...
Just to make sure I understand - this affects the forum only, correct? Not the "static" page with all the data, reviews, etc.?
Actually, the Bail Back is used when going white water rafting....
Calumet/Zone VI used to sell "exposure records" that you clipped into a handy palmed sized notebook. Don't know if they still do or not. Ansel Adams includd the same form in his books for years...
Chasing the bullet? How about dodging it? I wear Kevlar

But I'd advocate buying 2nd hand.
Well, here:

Ilford lumps them all together, or so it seems.
Take heart, Sal, maybe if you get lucky, Alec will start watching you like he does me!
Nathan Congdon lives, or lived in the City of Big Hair. Is he still around? I know he's busy what with a new child and all. He posts here occassionally. You'd definately benefit from contacting...
All my 8 X 10 and 5 X 7 holders, and most of my 4 X 5 holders were purchased used. However, I bought them only after inspecting them myself, one-at-a-time. I would never purchase holders over the...
Alec,
How is it that I qualify as petty when you accuse me of lying and threaten me that you "will be watching" me?
So you admit you were wrong, Sean?
Re-read the quote Alec: "It had obviously been a custom one-off, probably made in a machine shop, possibly in the 30's."
I quoted directly from the opening...
Little touchy there Alec? Allow me to quote Mr. Picker, or whomever wrote using his name:
"He sent not only the suggestion, he sent the part itself! It's a marvelous negative carrier. It had...
THe Negaflat by Besseler is actually different. Similar idea, and Besseler made a thorough and serious holder. IMHO I might invest in a used one of those first, assuming I could find a used one....
Also, wouldn't hurt to read Huntington Witherall's editorial ? in Lens Work Quarterly. I believe View Camera ran an article on portfolios & mounting a year or two ago as well. Sorry, don't have ...
Andre's question brings me to ask,
Aren't "traditional" methods still MUCH cheaper than digital? How much does a quality outfit run? How does the cost of a scanner and a printer and computer...
Why not go to the hardware store, or Radio Shack and get some "alligator clip" type electrical connectors. They are sometimes referred to as "Roach Clips" by those inclined towards pharmaceutical ...
The last studio I worked with shot it almost exclusively - but that was room size sets for furniture, 12 to 20 sets at a time, 1week maximum/set
I grant you they have drawbacks, but there's no need for them to be expensive - certainly makes the shortcomings a bit more tolerable if you don't pay through the nose for 'em.
Mine was sold as...
Steve Shuart charged me $25.00 for my plain g.g. replacement for a Calumet C-1

Well, perhaps
"a man who obviously knew his life would be cut short"
could be misconstrued, but I guess it's a matter of perspective. Maybe it could instead be written, "a man who obviously...
