I happen to have same issue with AG Stab ( http://www.macodirect.de/compard-stab-120ml-p-953.html ).
The negatives have that reddish sticky residue on the corners they're hanging during drying.
It seems that Copal Press shutters works with normal cable release. at least any electric coupling with camera back isn't used ( http://www.skgrimes.com/products/new-copal-shutters/pressshutters )

Thanks Ari!
I am quite sure that it's for closing shutter from 'preview opening' to shoot position when insterting the film cassette, thus preventing accidentally pulling dark slide out while...

Hi,
I got revolving Toyo camera back. I have two different Toyo back already, but this one is different. There's plug connector on the revolving part.
What is it's purpose? Some kind of a heating...
I ended up with Toyo 45A. So far it seems good choice: It allows use of 300mm lenses (not for closeups though) and on the wide end, the 65mm works really fine.
Future will show more. If it seems...
Used Technikas are also within the budget. They seems to be quite "cheap" within EU area.
Both, Wista and Technika has only front rise but has also front shift.. The shift can be used as front...
Hi,
Checked my early Toyo monorail and G-series monorail, both has revolving back. The early model's circular hole actually cut's off some corners, the later model has different design and there's...
Thanks Joel.
You didn't make it more complicated.. The forum searches gave me already impression that even Linhof Technika suffers from some degree of vignetting caused by revolving back (that's...
Wista or not, it's seems to be complicated.
It's possible that I can live without using fall movement especially in rare cases. The unability to use 65mm is bigger issue. It's a nice wide...
Hi,
I am considering to upgrade my current 4x5 field camera for something that is more rigid and newer. The Wista 45SP and 45VX has good price now. So I am quite interested about these......

I think that I am never fully satisfied with the evenness of the skies. Perhaps I am just chasing a ghosts?
Here's example. Fomapan 100. 4x5, developed in jobo expert 3010...
I have used some Q&D solutions to cover the filter slot over the years.
I used these because I have been worried about possible flare caused by light entering filter(s) thru the slot. For some...
I have ordinary Toyo compendium in my Toyo monorail cameras. But for very wide angle lenses, it cannot be extended much, thus light can easily reach lenses front from gap between gelatin filter and...
Recently I have been using some quite dark filter. Deep reds, very dense ND filters (between densities 1.5 ... 4.0). All are made from gelatin.
The problem is that sometimes the lenses barrel...
Beautiful!
Did you focus with range finder or ground glass?
Nice to hear your success Ed!
I use Orbital also. I had loads of problems with uneven development etc... Until I found agitation pattern that is gentle enough (I mean really gentle).
Now I use...
Hi,
I posted similar topic already to APUG, but as this is quite strange issue, I ask your opinions too.
I have got very strange blotches on my Fuji Acros 4x5 (quickload) sheets. All those...

I found lossy dng most interesting as it's like jpg but allows storage of metadata including all LR tools and adjustments.
Is there quality difference between lossy dng and jpg, I don't know.
I was couple of months trip, using only those 100% light tight film backs.
Now as I am back in home, the film back question is again my current intrest.
Should I open them and do something or...

I checked all my film backs.
12 of them has let more or less light thru the dark slide's slot. These all were film backs that I had tested couple of years ago with a unexposed film and opening...
I added some baffle, and now there's no light leak...
That's a good thing!
While checking if there's more small gaps where light can be seen, it took also the darkslide out from the film back...
Hi,
I did just some last time checks for my 4x5 wooden field camera before going on two month trip.. And noticed that there's some light leaks between the back (GG + film back assembly).
I...
Thank you!
Vaughn was right. The rear end of bellows was not installed properly (my mistake). It fitted tightly, but there was small gap from which light can enter in certain situations....
Hi,
I have some 8x10 film backs with similar light leaks.
But I can't reliable identify the source. The brightest area seems to be on the film's notched edge, which is far off the dark slide....

That is interesting. I did dummy test and yes, 70cc is enough with constant agitation. When using Orbital like a slosher with intermittent agitation, 300cc is not enough to cover sheet(s) because of...
Hi, as it seems that I am (perhaps only) who has problems with Orbital, it must be caused by my agitation.
Perhaps the speed I use to rock the tank is too fast or I raise the edges too much.
I...
